About the Job
We are looking for an experienced Cloud Platform Network Engineer to design, implement, and support secure, scalable cloud networking solutions within Microsoft Azure. This role plays a key part in enabling resilient hybrid connectivity and cloud services across highly secure, mission-critical environments.
You will work across cloud network architecture, operations, automation, and security, collaborating closely with platform, security, and engineering teams to deliver robust Azure networking solutions aligned to Zero Trust and compliance standards.
Key Responsibilities:
Network Architecture & Design:
Network Architecture & Design:
- Design and implement Azure networking solutions including VNets, VPN Gateways, NSGs, Azure Firewall, WAF, Load Balancers, and Application Gateways.
- Support hub-and-spoke and hybrid connectivity models.
- Work with architects, engineers, and security teams to ensure designs meet technical, business, and compliance requirements.
Operations & Troubleshooting:
- Monitor, optimise, and support network performance across hybrid and multi-site environments.
- Troubleshoot complex connectivity and network incidents.
- Implement observability using Azure Monitor, Log Analytics, and Network Watcher.
Automation & Delivery:
- Automate network provisioning and configuration using Terraform, Azure CLI, and PowerShell.
- Support infrastructure-as-code and CI/CD-aligned deployment processes.
- Contribute to secure, repeatable cloud delivery pipelines.
Security & Compliance:
- Ensure Azure network designs align with ISO/IEC 27001 and Zero Trust principles.
- Apply best practices for Azure network security and governance.
- Support firewall management, access controls, and threat detection activities.
Documentation & Knowledge Sharing:
- Maintain clear documentation of network designs, configurations, and changes.
- Share knowledge and mentor colleagues on cloud networking best practices.
Required Skills and Experience:
- Proven experience delivering Azure networking solutions in enterprise environments.
- Strong understanding of TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, routing, and firewall technologies.
- Hands-on experience with Azure networking services including VNets, App Gateway, Firewall, WAF, Load Balancer, and Network Watcher.
- Experience scripting and automating using PowerShell, Azure CLI, and Terraform.
- Solid understanding of cloud network security principles and Azure-native security tooling.
- Strong troubleshooting, communication, and stakeholder engagement skills.
- Active, valid SC Clearance.
Desirable Experience:
- Microsoft Certified: Azure Network Engineer Associate (or equivalent).
- Experience with Zscaler and Okta.
- Exposure to DevOps practices and CI/CD pipelines.
- Experience with monitoring platforms such as Azure Monitor or Log Analytics.
